All of Avara’s works are handmade in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland), more of their mahi can be seen online at Avara Studio .
They whakapapa to Te Rarawa, Tainui, Samoa, England and Ireland. Home for them is Kapanga Coromandel Town where their family have been living for many generations on Te Patukirikiri land.
Avara has a Masters in Design specialising in industrial/product design. Their connection to whenua has been guided and deepened through wānanga and mātauranga shared by Kauae Raro Research Collective while their whakairo practice has been guided by the Whakaraupō Carving Centre.
