BENNETT

Michael

Based in a sleepy New Zealand village nestled into the wall of a peaceful volcano overlooking Whakaraupo, Lyttelton Harbour you’ll find Michael Phillip Bennett, known as Mick, tinkering away in his Cass Bay studio.

After years of developing skills and techniques from the many varying paths of his life, Mick slowly began to blend them with his passion for creativity. Drawing inspiration from nature, Mick has been developing unique sculptures from Earths own supply of copper and wood.

Working mostly with the precious metal, the repurposed copper is hand cut then layered to the desired shape before being clamped and brazed. Further internal reinforcing guarantees a high-quality structure that is either fit to last the elements outdoors or can be gently placed in the warmth of your home where the skill and detail can be closely admired.
